We are campaigning for the construction of the Leeds Lighthouse, a modern structure which will be a landmark for Leeds, a new facility for the city's residents and visitors, gallery space for local talent and a commemoration of one of the city's most distinguished sons.

John Smeaton, a son of Leeds, was an innovator whose work has saved hundreds of lives. He is seen as the father of civil engineering and his most famous project was the Eddystone Lighthouse.

This proposal will explain why John Smeaton should be celebrated and what the Leeds Lighthouse will do for Leeds.
